Micropipettes available from 0.1 µl to 10 ml for your pipetting tasks in the laboratory. BRAND micropipettes offer ergonomic design together with a high degree of accuracy and precision. Choose from a wide variety of our single- and multichannel pipettes Transferpette® S and Transferpette® electronic.
Pipetting - A Routine Laboratory Procedure. Pipetting is one of the most frequent tasks in the laboratory. The right choice of pipette is critical to performing this repetitive task accurately and strain-free. What are the special features to look for? Pipetting key: To fit your preferred working style, choose either the Transferpette® pipettes with the pipetting key on the side or the Transferpette® S pipettes with the central pipetting button. The Transferpette® electronic pipettes only need a brief tap on the pipetting button to activate the piston. Tip ejector: All Transferpette® models have separate tip ejection. This reduces the risk of accidental tip ejection. Easy Calibration: Piston-operated pipettes are calibrated in compliance with the monitoring of measuring instruments according to EN ISO 8655. All Transferpette® models feature the unique Easy Calibration Technique that allows adjustment without tools. Autoclavability: No compromises! Depending on the model, either the complete pipette shaft (Transferpette® electronic) or the entire pipette (Transferpette® S) can be autoclaved at 121 °C (2 bar), acc. DIN EN 285. Tip cone: Pipette and pipette tip form a single system. Both components have been developed by BRAND and are perfectly matched. This ensures an optimum fit between the Transferpette® pipettes and the pipette and filter tips from BRAND. For your convenience, the tip cone is also designed to accept tips made by other leading manufacturers.

Transferpette® S 0.1-1 μl offers maximum precision for molecular biology work, especially when pipetting enzymes. UV resistant. CE-IVD - compliant.
Ergonomics – approved and certified. The Transferpette® electronic piston-operated pipette combines the widely recognized features of BRAND mechanical pipettes with the advantages of electronic apparatus. Comfortable design, balanced weight distribution, intuitive software and user-friendly technical documentation were the key objectives in developing the Transferpette® electronic pipette. The single channel pipette Transferpette® electronic was the first microliter pipette worldwide to be recognized with the 'Ergonomics Approved' certificate from the Technical Control Board Rhineland/Berlin-Brandenburg! Independent user tests confirm the ergonomics and the operating ease of the product and system! The Essentials: Besides pipetting comfort, an important design goal for the piston-operated pipette Transferpette® electronic was rapid and intuitive work, and simple, fast program changes. The objective was to gain the advantages of electronic operation with no trade-offs. To simplify operation, complicated progams for rarely used functions were omitted. Thus, the electronic pipette Transferpette® electronic includes all of the functions used routinely in mechanical pipettes, while adding the ergonomic and perfomance advantages of power-assisted operation and digital accuracy. The functions of the Transferpette® electronic are simple to set and convenient to use. Pipetting (PIP Mode): The "standard" program. The set volume is aspirated by the pipette, and then discharged. Mixing of Samples (PIPmix Mode): The sample is repeatedly aspirated and discharged, and the number of mixing cycles is displayed. Reverse Pipetting (revPIP Mode): Program specially designed for the pipetting of liquids with a high viscosity, high vapor pressure or foamy media. Pipetting with Electrophoresis (GEL Mode): Program for the loading of electrophoresis gels. The required sample volume is aspirated at the desired, adjustable speed, and is then discharged very slowly. The exact volume of liquid discharged is shown in the display as it is discharged. Dispensing (DISP Mode): A program for the dispensing of liquids in a series of equal aliquots. A volume that has been aspirated is dispensed in steps.
Frequently Asked Questions (Micropipettes)
What do I have to do before autoclaving and cleaning my Transferpette® S -8/-12?
Transferpette® S -8/-12 pipettes need not to be disassembled before autoclaving. The pipettes are completely autoclavable at 121°C (2 bar), acc. DIN EN 285. But the volume adjustment must be set to an available numbered volume (e.g., 11.25 or 11.26 but not between), with the volume-change protection set fully unlocked. We recommend the use of sterilization bags.
Further information on the procedure can be found in the manual in chapter "Disassembling the manifold".
Do I have to lubricate my Transferpette® pipette after every autoclaving?
If the pipette is frequently autoclaved, the piston should be oiled with the supplied silicone oil in order to preserve smooth movement.
See the appropriate operating manual for more information!
Can I order Transferpette® pipettes DAkkS calibrated?
All our liquid handling instruments can be ordered DAkkS calibrated with certificate for a certain additional charge per piece.
For ordering please add "DAkkS/...." as a prefix to the corresponding catalog number, e.g., DAkkS/7036 00 for a Transferpette® -8, 0.5-10µl, DAkkS calibrated.
The current price list will provide more details on the additional charge for your requested instrument.
How do I do maintenance for my Transferpette® S -8/-12?
To inspect the pistons and seals for contamination unscrew the manifold from the hand grip and disassemble it.
Information about maintenance is given in the operating manual in the chapter "Maintenance".
What is the regular interval the seals of Transferpette® multichannel pipettes have to be replaced?
There is no concrete interval determined. It depends on the handling of the instrument and the tips used.
Find more information in the appropriate operating manual.
How can I do maintenance for my Transferpette® S?
To inspect the piston and seal for contamination unscrew the pipette shaft from the hand grip and disassemble it.
Information about the steps is given in the manual in chapter "Servicing and Cleaning". A tool is not necessary.
I need a single nose cone as spare part for my Transferpette® multichannel pipette but I cannot find it in the catalog.
User replacable spare parts for our pipettes are not shown in our catalog. They are listed in the appropriate operating manual in the chapter "Accessories/Spare parts" ordered by volume ranges.
You also can send in the instrument for repair.
The piston of my Transferpette® S is difficult to move. What can I do?
A contaminated piston could be the cause. After cleaning you should oil the piston with a very thin layer. When using a pipette with a volume range of 5ml or 10ml also the seal should be lubricated according to the manual chapter "Servicing and Cleaning".
At what wave length is the UV resistance of Transferpette® pipettes tested?
The UV resistance of Transferpette® pipettes from BRAND is tested at a wave length of 254nm.
