For medium and high sample throughput, 96-well plates from BRAND are the efficient solution for PCR and qPCR and can be conveniently filled with multichannel pipettes or pipetting robots.
The uniform and thin wall thicknesses of the wells ensure rapid transfer of the temperature from the cycler to the sample, thus reducing cycle times.
A number of skirt choices ensures a good fit in common thermal cyclers for efficient heat transfer. For high flexibility, unskirted plates are the first choice. For clear identification, a barcode can be applied to semi-skirted plates. The same applies to fully-skirted plates, which are ideal for automation due to their rigidity. For qPCR, white plates are available that optimally reflect the fluorescence signals.
Self-adhesive films or cap strips seal the plate securely and protect it from evaporation losses, which is especially important for small volumes.
The cleanroom quality of the PCR consumables from BRAND, guarantees reliable results. BRAND 96-well plates are also produced under controlled cleanroom conditions and thus meet the purity criteria of Biocert PCR clean. The films included in the sets are not tested with regard to these purity criteria.

The polymerase chain reaction (PCR) revolutionized molecular biology and is currently used in many fields. These areas of application vary greatly, and the formats of the PCR disposables must vary accordingly. Quality attributes: For universal use in nearly all standard thermal cyclers. PP, extra-thin, uniform wall thicknesses enable optimal heat transfer and short cycle times. 96-well PCR plates with blue alphanumeric code and cut corner marking. Highly transparent flat cover optimally suited for qPCR. DNase, DNA and RNase-free. Autoclavable at 121 °C (2 bar), acc. DIN EN 285.

The Real Time PCR (qPCR) is finding more and more widespread use. It features direct quantification of generated DNA through the use of fluorescence measurement. White PCR products by BRAND yield significantly better results in this application than transparent vessels. The different products of this line are uniformly colored with TiO2 (titanium dioxide) in order to achieve an optimal reflexion of the fluorescence signals in combination with the smooth surface.
