Pipetting is one of the most frequent tasks in the laboratory. Discover the Transferpette® laboratory pipette family: ergonomic air displacement pipettes for accurate, reproducible pipetting in laboratory applications. They cover volume ranges from 0.1 µl to 10 ml. The micropipettes are available in various versions:
Single-channel and multi-channel micropipettes (8/12-channel) for individual samples and microplates;
Transferpette® S and Transferpette® pro – mechanical pipettes as variable or fixed models;
Transferpette® electronic – electronic pipette with programs for pipetting (standard or reverse), mixing, and gel loading.
All Transferpette® models have a separate tip ejection button. This prevents accidental ejection of the tips. The micro pipettes are calibrated within the scope of test equipment monitoring in accordance with EN ISO 8655. All models of the Transferpette® pipettes feature the unique Easy Calibration technique, which allows adjustment without tools. Autoclavability: Depending on the model, either the complete pipette shaft (Transferpette® electronic) or even the entire pipette (Transferpette® S & pro) can be autoclaved at 121 °C (2 bar) in accordance with DIN EN 285. Tip cone: The pipette and the pipette tip form a system. Both system components are developed by BRAND and are optimally matched to each other. This ensures optimal compatibility of the Transferpette® pipettes with the pipette tips and filter tips from BRAND. Due to the universal design of the tip cones, tips from other leading manufacturers can also be used.
Mechanical pipettes
The Transferpette® S and Transferpette® pro are mechanical micropipettes for precise pipetting in the laboratory – available as single-channel or multi-channel pipettes. Frequently Asked Questions (Micropipettes)
What do I have to do before autoclaving and cleaning my Transferpette® S -8/-12?
Transferpette® S -8/-12 pipettes need not to be disassembled before autoclaving. The pipettes are completely autoclavable at 121°C (2 bar), acc. DIN EN 285. But the volume adjustment must be set to an available numbered volume (e.g., 11.25 or 11.26 but not between), with the volume-change protection set fully unlocked. We recommend the use of sterilization bags.

Do I have to lubricate my Transferpette® pipette after every autoclaving?
If the pipette is frequently autoclaved, the piston should be oiled with the supplied silicone oil in order to preserve smooth movement.

All our liquid handling instruments can be ordered DAkkS calibrated with certificate for a certain additional charge per piece.

How do I do maintenance for my Transferpette® S -8/-12?
To inspect the pistons and seals for contamination unscrew the manifold from the hand grip and disassemble it.

What is the regular interval the seals of Transferpette® multichannel pipettes have to be replaced?
There is no concrete interval determined. It depends on the handling of the instrument and the tips used.

The piston of my Transferpette® S is difficult to move. What can I do?
A contaminated piston could be the cause. After cleaning you should oil the piston with a very thin layer. When using a pipette with a volume range of 5ml or 10ml also the seal should be lubricated according to the manual chapter "Servicing and Cleaning".
At what wave length is the UV resistance of Transferpette® pipettes tested?
The UV resistance of Transferpette® pipettes from BRAND is tested at a wave length of 254nm.
